Pterosaur Whisperer posted a video:
[ A 58 second video-viewing of Nevada’s Pyramid Lake. ]
Pyramid Lake is set in the semi-desert about 45 miles north of Reno, Nevada.
This intensely blue lake is 27 miles long and 4-11 miles wide, with a maximum depth of 356 feet.
Unlike Mono Lake, Pyramid Lake is only somewhat saline; it supports a native fish population of several species, including the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout, the Lahontan Tui Chub, and the Tahoe Sucker.
Pyramid Lake is a sport fishing destination and is administered by the local Paiute Indian tribe.
It is also the site of a large breeding colony of American White Pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) on Anaho Island.
